Mr Al-Mahfoudh is a very approachable consultant who is easy to talk to and understand. He recently carried out a disc decompression with Coflex implant for me, he explained the procedure and showed me the MRI detail together with the possible benefits and risks. The operation itself as a patient was very straight forward, general anaesthetic, operation and an overnight stay to monitor recovery. Pain was minimal, only needing limited pain relief for some 48 hours and mobilised completely with care and a back brace for 6 weeks straight from going home. Mr Al-Mahfoudh had a brief discussion in theatre with me before being sedated and came to see me the following day, a Saturday confirming the operation had gone as planned. His follow up care and thought for his patient throughout has been very good. Thank you

Excellent service. The main point being he was quick, the appointment were quick and the actual operation was done in 3 weeks. The results were excellent and I was able to walk normally within 3 days with very little pain . The wound healed very well. Overall an excellent service with a very skilled man.

I first meet Mr Al-Mahfoudh in October 2019 when I was in spinal cord compression. He immediately put me at ease and I felt total confidence and trust in him . My operation for T6/7. Laminectomy and resection of a tumour was very successful and I regained my full mobility from needing a wheelchair & Zimmer frame back to the dance floor . Under mri surveillance, Mr Al-Mahfoudh picked up that the tumour had started to grow again and I needed another operation. I felt very thankful that I was under his expert care and cannot thank him enough for saving my mobility. He has an excellent bedside manner and took time to explain to me what was happening, he answered any questions that I had and made me feel safe in his hands. I would highly recommend him as a world class neuro surgeon !

Mr Al-Mahfoudh performed spinal decompression surgery on me in August 2020 following a diagnosis of severe spinal stenosis. I felt I was in very safe hands from the first meeting with Mr Al-Mahfoudh. He was very thorough in his tests and examinations. He informed me of all my options but was honest about expected results. Even though I am in my early 80s, Mr Al-Mahfoudh did not see this as a barrier to operating on me and I was very confident in his ability to bring my treatment to a successful conclusion. I spent two days in Nuffield Brighton where the care and treatment I received from the whole team was exemplary and the stunning view across the South Downs aided my recovery enormously. Post surgery, my leg pain (which had been becoming increasingly debilitating) was gone immediately and my mobility has improved. A big THANK YOU to Mr Al-Mahfoudh and his team including his secretaries who always responded to my enquiries promptly. My quality of life has improved immensely.
